The Carters Take on The Wild West Part 1

Our adventure began with a late-night arrival in Salt Lake City, but we woke up to gorgeous weather, surrounded by snow-capped mountains that took our breath away. The stunning scenery was the perfect start to our Wild West journey.

Day 1: Salt Lake City to Jackson

We hit the road on Highway 89, and headed towards Jackson. Our drive took us through the beautiful Cache National Forest, and as we entered Logan Canyon, we were greeted by a wintry mix of snow and 48-degree temperature. It was like a winter wonderland!

Our first stop was Coopers, a charming spot for lunch overlooking the Bear Lake. We couldn’t resist splurging on their fried cheesecake to celebrate the beginning of our vacation – a decision we certainly didn’t regret!

As we continued our journey, Andy took in the gorgeous scenery. I, on the other hand, took the opportunity to catch up on some much-needed sleep. According to Andy, the rest of the drive was absolutely gorgeous along with me serenading him with some wild west dreams.

We finally arrived in Jackson, which was even more breathtaking than we had imagined. It felt like stepping into a postcard. We checked into our accommodation for the next three days, the beautiful Snake River Lodge. The lodge was the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, providing a cozy retreat after a long day of travel.

For dinner, we opted for a casual meal at the Mangy Moose, a local favorite known for its relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. After such an eventful day, we checked in early, eager to rest and recharge for the adventures that awaited us.

In just one day, we had already checked off Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming from our travel list. Our journey was off to an incredible start, and we couldn’t wait to see what the next days would bring! And this photo sums up travels with the Carters!

Stay tuned for more updates from our Wild West adventure. The Carters are ready to explore and enjoy adventures 1900 miles from home!
